Description (Service)
  • Operates a provincially mandated impaired driver program 
  • Requires impaired drivers to successfully complete the program, before licences are reinstated 
  • Successful completion usually take up to 11 months to complete  
  • Individuals are required to successfully complete and serve their entire suspension period before licences are eligible to be reinstated
 
Participants must complete all three parts of program: 
Assessment 
  • Determines whether the participant must complete an eight hour education course or a sixteen hour treatment course
 
Education / Treatment Program 
  • Focus is to develop strategies to reduce impaired driving in the future
 
Follow-up Interview 
  • Conducts telephone follow-up six months after the education or treatment class was completed
