Public Comments Shibogama Tribal Council is a member of the Political Territorial Organization of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)  
All member communities belong to Treaty #9 
Shibogama serves a collective on-reserve population of 2,761 individuals (as of 2017); 2,800 individuals (as of Oct 2018)
Description (Agency) Serves as a non-political, regional Chiefs Council which provides support services to five First Nation communities

Description (Service) Serves as a non-political, regional Chiefs Council which provides support services to 5 First Nation communities 
  • Provides governance, political support, technical advisory, community development support and advocacy to member First Nations in their quest to build self-sufficient communities 
  • Promotes Aboriginal recognition and cultural awareness of the member First Nations 
  • Consists of Chiefs and representatives from each community  
  • Delivers programs and services through local community government  
  • Participates in and co-hosts the annual Northern Ontario First Nations Environment Conference (NOFNEC) with several other Tribal Councils

Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Shibogama First Nations Council territory
Application Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
