  • Shibogama First Nations Council is a member of the Political Territorial Organization of Nishnawbe-Aski Nation (NAN)  
  • All member communities belong to Treaty #9
Description (Service) Provides support and assistance in developing and delivering education systems and programs for the member communities 
  • Provides educational support services to principals, Education Directors, teachers and support staff 
  • Strives to improve and enhance teaching and learning opportunities 
  • Oversees initial teacher rectuitments (accepts and reviews cover letter, resume, copy of Certificate of Qualification, supporting documents and references) 
  • Promotes and supports the bilingual/bicultural "Languages Together" program which endorses and teaches Anishininiimowin (Oji-Cree) as the primary language and English as a Second Language (ESL); program developed by each member community and through guidelines from the Ontario Ministry of Education (Ontario Curriculum)

Eligibility Must belong to one of the member First Nations within the Shibogama First Nations Council territory
Application Services are delivered to community members at the local level (Band Office)
Languages English ; Interpretive Services - Oji-Cree; available upon request
