Description (Agency) Provides immediate, short term crisis intervention services Mon-Sun 24 hours to individuals affected by crime and tragedy
Description (Service)
  • Offers on-site early intervention and crisis intervention 
  • Provides needs assessment, safety planning and referrals to community services 
  • Offers enhanced support for vulnerable victims 
  • Provides assistance with applications to VQRP+
Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) 
Provides assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including: 
  • home safety 
  • accommodation 
  • meals 
  • transportation 
  • basic necessities 
  • dependent care costs 
  • counselling 
  • traditional Indigenous health services 
  • cellular phones 
  • vision care 
  • dental care 
  • aids for victims with disabilities 
  • interpretation services 
  • crime scene cleanup 
  • government/medical documents 
  • funeral expenses
Additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes: 
  • storage locker 
  • tattoo removal 
  • treatment at a recovery facility
Note: No direct reimbursement to victims for above supports 
Financial support also available for: 
  • victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime 
  • parents of child homicide victims 
  • spouses of homicide victims
  • Recruits individuals to provide support to victims 
  • Provides individuals with specialized training at no cost
Volunteers will: 
  • Assist in developing a personalized safety plan for the victim 
  • Provide information about legal assistance and programs 
  • Offer referrals to long-term service providers within the community 
  • Provide temporary practical and emotional support
Hours Office: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm 
Emergency Services: Mon-Sun 24 hours
Areas Served Dryden ; Ignace ; Kenora ; Nestor Falls ; Red Lake
Boundaries Surrounding regions; will provide telephone support from Manitoba border to Whitedog
  • Victims of crime and tragic circumstances
  • Victims, immediate family members, and witnesses in the direct aftermath of violent crimes
  • Individuals 18 years of age and over 
  • Require a valid driver's license 
  • Undergo mandatory screening 
  • Available for three 12-hour shifts per month or equivalent
  • Referral by police, emergency services, community agency or self-referral 
  • Police and/or Emergency Services can arrange to access services for a client with their consent by calling the toll-free number
